Thrilled to announce our 501(c)(3) status
Now, when you make a donation that facilitates us helping improve the education or health care of Guatemalan families, you get to deduct it on your taxes!
We were elated to receive the determination letter from the IRS today confirming that they had approved our application for tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status. While we were always diligent with the appropriation of funds donated to us, this status affords us the ability to fund-raise in different ways and attaches legitimacy for donors that may not know us personally — like the circle of family, friends and business contacts that supported us last year.
If you are looking for a wonderful outlet for your charitable dollars as we approach the holidays and year-end, please consider giving to us. Because we know there are countless groups asking for donations, and individual donors have their own personal needs, each donation we receive, no matter how small, is appreciated so very much.
Payments by credit card (or PayPal) can be made from the “Donate” button on the right, or checks can be made out to “Guatemala Service Projects Inc” and mailed to the address in our header: PO Box 441, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
While we don’t have (as a nonprofit startup) historical data to back this statistic, our budget and planning documents suggest that we should put well over 90 cents of every dollar in the projects we plan! We have very little overhead, the entire board is voluntary, and we have no employees!

Thanks!
